千葉県佐倉市の歴博で行われた、大久保利通に関する様々な資料を展示した展覧会。

大久保の生涯を辿りながら、多くの書簡、写真、大久保ゆかりの品々などが展示された。

見所は、大久保をはじめとする、明治の元勲達の書簡だった。

大久保に宛てた書簡を書いたのは、西郷隆盛、木戸孝允、岩倉具視、伊藤博文、山県有朋、大隈重信、江藤新平、勝海舟などの、錚々たる人々の名前が並ぶ。

西郷隆盛というと、豪快な人物像を思い浮かべるが、書簡に残された文字は、意外にも小さな文字で書かれている。
